So what, exactly, is Ukrop's?
We're a chain of grocery stores. But chances are, we're unlike any
other supermarket you've seen. We’re not just here; we’re
here to help. Just come into any of our stores. You’ll find
friendly faces and caring attitudes.Make a special request. We'll
do everything possible to fulfill it. Shop away. We'll take all
those groceries out to the car for you, and carefully pack them
in your trunk (and a small "thank you" is tip enough).

Our
drive to serve began as soon as our first store's doors opened
in 1937. That's when Joe Ukrop decided to start a grocery store
based on the golden rule - treat others as you yourself would
like to be treated. It meant bringing people the best value
for their grocery dollar (and those dollars were hard to come
by in the middle of the Depression). And it meant treating every
person, customers and associates alike, with the utmost respect |
Today,
Joe Ukrop's vision is carried through by every Ukrop's associate.
Since most people are still on a budget, we bring our customers
the very best value for their dollar. Our food quality standards
are among the highest in the business. And we take every step we
can to bring people what they want most from a store - especially
convenience.
With
our Valued Customer program, customers get a card, which they can
present for exclusive savings on hundreds of items. Valued Customers
are also automatically entered in sweepstakes when they purchase
certain products, and they get savings on events and services throughout
the community.

Ukrop's
stores are located throughout Central Virginia. Our headquarters
is in Richmond, Virginia. Along with our stores, we operate
a Central Bakery, where we create a huge range of baked goods.
Our Central Kitchen, also in Richmond, cooks up thousands of
delicious items a day, all of which are ready to heat and enjoy,
or ready to serve. |
Several
locations feature a Ukrop's Grill and Cafe, with a wonderful menu
of items made from the same products we sell in our stores. Nineteen
of our stores have a Ukrop's Pharmacy, and First Market Bank, a
full-service bank is making its way into many locations.
We'll
keep adding more and more services in our stores, to make life a
little more convenient for our customers. We'll keep offering exclusive
savings every day, and we'll keep listening to our customers, to
bring them what they want most in a grocery store. If you've never
been to a Ukrop's before, please know that you're always welcome.

As
Ukrop’s has grown, learned more, and gained a clearer notion
of who we are and what we believe, we have evolved our “Vision,
Mission and Shared Values” of 1993 into a revised statement
in 2003, which includes our Vision and Purpose. Our list of Team
Values, Business Commitments, and Leadership Principles, honors
our past and will guide us today and tomorrow in a constantly changing
marketplace and world. Through the process of studying our Shared
Values over the past year, we have clarified what is important to
us as a living company. With our new statement, we have a simple
guide to reference as we express what we stand for on a daily basis.
