Earning fuelperks!
How are fuelperks! earned?
Use your Ukrop’s Valued Customer card each time you shop. After spending $50 on qualified items, you will earn a 10 cent discount off your next fuel purchase (20 gallon limit). Each time your total spending reaches a $50 increment, an additional 10 cents per gallon fuelperks! is awarded.
- These discounts are “stackable” (may be accumulated) as shown in the following examples:
Spend $50 and earn a discount of 10 cents per gallon.
Spend $100 and earn a discount of 20 cents per gallon.
Spend $250 and earn a discount of 50 cents per gallon.
Spend $500 and earn a discount of $1 per gallon.
Spend $1,000 and earn a discount of $2 per gallon, and so on.
- Once you choose to redeem your fuelperks!, your account will be fully depleted.
- During your next shopping trip, you will once again begin to earn fuelperks!
Do I have to register for fuelperks!?
No. All Ukrop’s Valued Customer card holders are automatically eligible for fuelperks!
During the month of July, you are invited to stop by the fuelperks! table at Ukrop’s to learn more about the program and how you might earn up to 10 cents per gallon (20 gallon limit) by updating your Ukrop’s Valued Customer card information.
Visit the fuelperks! table in our stores (or customer service), if you have questions about:
- the number of UVC cards in your household
- concerns about whether the UVC cards in your possession are active or if you wish to delete cards
- obtaining additional UVC cards
Which cards may I use to earn fuelperks!?
- Ukrop’s Valued Customer cards (both wallet sized and key tags)
- First Market Bank Market Share Cards
Is there a limit on how many fuelperks! I may earn?
No. There is no limit on the amount you may earn. By using your UVC card, you earn a discount of 10 cents per gallon (20 gallon limit) for every $50 spent on qualified items.
Do I have to spend $50 each time I shop?
No. By using your Ukrop’s Valued Customer card each time you shop, Ukrop’s will track the fuelperks! for you. Each time your total spending reaches a $50 increment, an additional 10 cents per gallon fuelperks! is awarded.
Which items do not qualify for fuelperks!?
Some of the items which do not qualify are:
- Gift Card Purchases
- Postage Stamps
- Shipping Charges
- Delivery Fees
- Deposits
- Bus Tickets
- Ticketmaster
- Photo Finishing
- Dry Cleaning
- State or Federally Funded Pharmacy Charges (including Medicare and Medicaid)
- Donations
- Sales Tax

Can I earn fuelperks! with any method of payment?
Any payment, other than government charge, qualifies for fuelperks!
How may I check my fuelperks! balance?
Your fuelperks! balance will be listed at the bottom of your Ukrop’s or Joe’s Market receipt. You may also check online at www.ukrops.com/fuelperks.
Redeeming fuelperks!
Which cards may I use to redeem fuelperks!?
- You may only use wallet-sized Ukrop’s Valued Customer cards (with a magnetic stripe) to redeem fuelperks! at the pump.
If you do not have a wallet-sized card with a magnetic stripe, please visit the fuelperks! tables in our stores or customer service.
When can I redeem fuelperks!?
fuelperks! may be redeemed immediately.
Once you choose to redeem your fuelperks! (20 gallon limit), your fuelperks! balance will be fully depleted.
For example, if your fuelperks! account entitles you to a 50 cent per gallon discount (20 gallon limit) and you choose to redeem your discount, you must use your full 50 cent per gallon discount. You cannot choose to only redeem a portion of it.
During your next shopping trip, you will again begin to earn fuelperks!
Where can I redeem my fuelperks!?
Look for the fuelperks! signs at local participating BP and Exxon stations in metro Richmond and Tri-Cities. For a complete list of participating stations included in the fuelperks! program, visit www.ukrops.com/fuelperks.
How do I actually redeem my fuelperks! at one of the participating gas stations?
- If prompted, press “yes” when asked for your Ukrop’s Valued Customer card at the pump.
- Insert your wallet-sized UVC card.
- fuelperks! discount appears on the display.
- Insert debit/credit card (or pay cash inside).
- Watch the prices drop.
- Select fuel grade.
- Start pumping for less and enjoy your fuelperks!.
Can I carry forward my fuelperks! if I fill up with less than the 20 gallon limit?
No. Once you choose to redeem your fuelperks!, your account will be fully depleted no matter how many gallons you choose to purchase. To maximize your savings, you should time your trip to a participating station to fill up with as many gallons as possible (20 gallon limit).
May I fill up more than one vehicle when redeeming fuelperks!?
No. For safety reasons, customers are not permitted to fill more than one vehicle.
May I transfer or give away my fuelperks!?
No. fuelperks! may not be transferred or donated.
What happens if the fuelperks! discount I have earned exceeds the price per gallon of fuel?
When you choose to redeem your fuelperks!, it is possible that your fuelperks! discount may exceed the current price of a gallon of fuel. In this circumstance, the unredeemed difference will be retained in your fuelperks! account.
For example, if your fuelperks! account entitles you to a $5.00 per gallon discount (20 gallon limit), and the price of fuel is $4.50. Following your fuel purchase, the 50 cent difference will remain in your fuelperks! account.
(Some pumps require a minimum charge of approximately 10 cents; if such is the case, then 60 cents will be retained on the card.)
Do my fuelperks! discounts expire?
Fuelperks! discounts expire on the last day of the third month following the month in which the discounts were earned. For example:
Discounts earned during June will expire on September 30.
Discounts earned in July will expire on October 31, and so on.
As a reminder, point expiration information will be printed at the bottom of your receipts.
Miscellaneous
May I still use my First Market Bank Market Share Card?
- First Market Bank Market Share Check Cards may be used to earn fuelperks! at Ukrop’s or Joe’s Market.
- First Market Bank Market Share Check Cards may continue to be used as payment at the pump.
- First Market Bank Market Share Check Cards may not be used to redeem fuelperks! at the pump.
If you do not have a wallet-sized Ukrop’s Valued Customer card with a magnetic stripe, please visit the fuelperks! tables in our stores or customer service.
Why aren’t all Richmond area BP and Exxon stations in the program?
Ukrop’s developed this joint program exclusively with Uppy’s, a local, family-owned business. Uppy’s either operates or supplies fuel to many stations throughout the Richmond area.
When will more stations be added to the program?
Uppy’s will continue to add stations to the program throughout the summer.
Why just Richmond area stores?
Ukrop’s is piloting the fuelperks! program in the Richmond area. All Ukrop’s stores and Joe’s Market will be participating, with the exception of our Roanoke, Fredericksburg and Williamsburg stores. If successful, we may choose to extend the program to the other markets which Ukrop’s serves.
What happens if my card is lost or stolen?
If you discover your card(s) is lost or stolen, you must notify us immediately by calling 804-353-

fuelperks@ukrops.com.
